Traffic Light System Scrapped for NZ

The New Zealand traffic light system and almost all of the COVID-19 related requirements in New Zealand have been removed.

If you are traveling to New Zealand, this means:

• You are no longer required to wear masks except in healthcare and aged care facilities
• There are no vaccine requirements to enter New Zealand
• It is not mandatory to self test on days 0/1 and 5/6, but encouraged. You will still be provided with free RAT tests on arrival for voluntary testing

Requirements still in effect

• You must self isolate if you contract COVID-19 for a minimum of 7 days. Close contacts will not need to isolate
• Masks to be worn in aged care and healthcare facilities
• A New Zealand Travel Declaration will still need to be filled out before travelling to New Zealand. This includes Citizens returning to New Zealand

Visa Requirements and Updates
If you are traveling to New Zealand you will need either a Visitor visa or an NZeTA unless you are an Australian Citizen. For travel from visa waivering countries, you are able to apply for a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) but this must now be granted BEFORE travel. You now need to upload a photo for identification purposes also.

If you are traveling from or to New Zealand, the buyer is responsible for obtaining all passport, visa, health and medical information required. The buyer is also responsible for ensuring they adhere to any and all relevant health warnings and receive recommended vaccinations of all countries they will be visiting. New Zealand Entry Requirements: Replaced Arrival Card with New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD)

The old Passenger Arrival Card has been replaced by the New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD). This is mandatory for everyone entering the country.

Completing the NZTD is free and easy! You can do it online at the NZTD website or by downloading the handy NZTD app.

The declaration asks questions about your trip and the items you're bringing. You can start it anytime and submit it between 24 hours before departure and reaching passport control in New Zealand.

Everyone needs an NZTD, regardless of visa status. This includes holders of New Zealand visas and NZeTAs.

Can't complete it online? No worries! A paper declaration form is still available.
